University of Calgary, has adopted Elluminate Live!® to:

• Support design, development, and delivery of blended learning courses
• Provide significant increase in quantity and quality of student interaction
• Collaborate on research projects on a global level

At the University of Calgary, Elluminate Live! has been used campus wide since the fall of 2005. As a Center of Excellence, the university has fully integrated the live eLearning tool with its Blackboard Learning Management system to support the majority of distance programs. In addition, Elluminate Live! has become of key part of an initiative that faculty with the expertise, resources, and incentives to redesign their courses for blended delivery.

“Students surveyed in our redesigned blended learning courses indicate a 78% increase in the quantity and quality of interaction with other students and a 59% increase in faculty accessibility,” reports Dr. Norm Vaughn. “Group work is given as the primary reason for the increased interaction with other students and accessibility is cited as the key factor for increased interaction with faculty.”
