Elluminate Speaking Stipend Submission Guidelines and Selection Rules
All fields in the application form must be filled out.
For the US$500 stipend level
Elluminate Speaking Stipend: Elluminate is Featured and Used
This $500 stipend will be offered to presenters who are accepted to
present at an eligible conference and both features Elluminate in the
session and use Elluminate as a delivery vehicle within the session.
Details:
- Please see the summary flowchart for an overview.
- You are accepted to speak at and actually deliver the session at an eligible conference on a subject that involves the use Elluminate in a powerful way to further the needs of K-20 students or professionals anywhere in the world.
- You use Elluminate as a vehicle to deliver the session by either (a) Presenting remotely or (b) Bringing in remote guest presenters.
- If we accept you for this stipend, you must be accepted to speak by that 3rd party conference, make all your own arrangements (travel and otherwise), and actually speak. We will pay a stipend of $500 to those selected for this Elluminate program upon successful delivery of your talk at the 3rd party conference.
- You must use Elluminate during the session to bridge your local audience with remote participants
- You must be willing to record the presentation and, at Elluminate's discretion, allow links to it on Elluminate's web pages
- You can use your own institutions own Elluminate system or use a session set up by Elluminate
- A maximum of 15 stipends at this level will be granted by Elluminate per year
For the US$250 stipend level
Elluminate Speaking Stipend: Elluminate Used
This $250 stipend will be offered to presenters who are accepted to present
at an eligible conference and merely use Elluminate in the session as a delivery
vehicle within the session.

- You are accepted to speak at and actually deliver the session at an eligible conference on any K-20 educational subject.
- You use Elluminate as a vehicle to deliver the session by either (a) Presenting remotely or (b) Bringing in remote guest presenters.
- If we accept you for this stipend, you must be accepted to speak by that 3rd party conference, make all your own arrangements (travel and otherwise), and actually speak. We will pay a stipend of $250 to those selected for this Elluminate program upon successful delivery of your talk at the 3rd party conference.
- You must use Elluminate during the session to bridge your local audience with remote participants
- You must be willing to record the presentation and, at Elluminate's discretion, allow links to it on Elluminate's web pages
- You can use your own institutions own Elluminate system or use a session set up by Elluminate
- A maximum of 30 stipends at this level will be granted by Elluminate per year
Other Eligibility Criteria for both levels of stipend
- MERE APPLICATION TO THE ELLUMINATE SPEAKING STIPEND PROGRAM DOES NOT GUARANTEE YOU WILL GET A STIPEND EVEN IF YOUR TALK IS ELIGIBLE. YOU MUST BE ACCEPTED AND APPROVED BY ELLUMINATE AFTER THE 3rd PARTY CONFERENCE ACCEPTS YOU AS WELL AS SUCCESSFULLY DELIVER THE SESSION IN ORDER TO GET AN ELLUMINATE STIPEND. PLEASE SEE THE FLOWCHART BELOW FOR A SUMMARY AND THE TEXT BELOW FOR DETAILS.
- Your application submission implies that your institution allows stipends from a for-profit vendor and you accept all responsibility that, if selected by Elluminate, this stipend falls within your institutions ethical guidelines.
- You application submission implies that you assume all responsibility for communicating to the conference you have applied to or may be accepted for a grant from Elluminate to speak at that conference. Elluminate does not and can't guarantee that an application for or delivery of an Elluminate grant stipend for a 3rd party conference session will or won't influence your eligibility for that conference and Elluminate takes no responsibility for making such a communication for you to the 3rd party conference.
- For-profit organizations are eligible, but will be less likely to receive grants than non-profits and government funded educational institutions
- Elluminate Centers of Excellence institutions are eligible
- If there are multiple presenters, only one stipend is issued and will be issued in the name of the main presenter. Splitting the proceeds is completely left up to that presenting team
- If multiple teams make proposals from the same or related institution, each proposal is looked at independently. Multiple teams from the same institution are eligible for stipends
- Actual issuance of stipend checks will be authorized after the presenters who are accepted to the Elluminate stipend program provides evidence of the successful delivery of the session, including one or more of the following to be requested at Elluminate's discretion:
- Copies of session evaluation forms
- E-mail from the conference coordinator that the session was delivered as described in the conference brochure
- An Elluminate recording of the session as delivered on the day of the conference
- A CD-ROM with an audio or video recording of the session as delivered on the day of the conference
- A few e-mails from conference attendees who attended your presentation
