11:30am – 12:00pm	Reaching Students of All Levels With Elluminate Elluminate provides such a unique way to reach all types of learners. But how do you connect with those students who have difficulty with reading or math? By formatting your PowerPoint slides in a particular way, you can present information via Elluminate without overwhelming your low-level students. Come see it in action and learn about how this method has helped the eLearning Broward department make its students more successful with topics such as essay writing, algebra, geometry, statistics, and more. 12:00pm - 12:30pm	Making a Difference with Elluminate Live: A Case Study Narrative With its multiple functionalities, Elluminate Live has proven to be an effective tool used at the University of Alberta to support distance and on-campus learning, professional development, research collaborations and communities of learning. The use of Elluminate at the U of A extends throughout campus to areas of both academic and administrative responsibility and across a broad range of faculties and departments including Health Sciences, Extension Studies, Education, Sciences, Engineering as well as campus service departments. Elluminate's ability to provide a mechanism to increase both social and teaching presence enables the creation of authentic and engaging learning spaces which enhance the teaching/learning process. Researchers and administrators using Elluminate have increased their opportunities and possibilities for collaboration. The positive response we get from our users reinforces our conviction that Elluminate Live brings added value to teaching, learning, research and administrative environments. As we continue to work with Elluminate our attention turns to the specific ways that Elluminate implementations have made a difference to our teaching, learning, administrative and research communities. For this presentation we approached our users and asked “How has Elluminate made a difference?” Using a case study approach we will share their stories in both narrative and video formats. This will be an interactive presentation that encourages our audience to guide us towards their specific areas of interest. 2:00pm - 2:45pm	Keynote Presentation: The Pursuit of the Online Learning Holy Grail Every organization has training demands that must be met. Training costs some companies 100’s of millions of dollars a year. This investment into the organizations most valuable resource – human capitol - is always a challenge. There are scheduling challenges, productivity demands, geographic challenges, travel and expenses, and budget cuts that are always treating training. These expenses must be managed, along while still conducting high quality effective training. The question arises, “how do organizations effectively conduct training”? E-learning has evolved over the last 25 years into an effective method of delivery of learning. Paradigms that the classroom is the only way that learning can occur are no longer valid. Technologies today allow for both asynchronous and synchronous learning from anywhere at anytime. From streaming video to virtual classrooms technology has afforded an equal if not better delivery of learning. In this presentation you will be able to understand what components are needed to create a learning environment online that allows for learning of skills that are most in demand.
