FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Hurricane Education Leadership Program (HELP Team) Joins Elluminate Community Partner Program
Fort Lauderdale, Florida, (March 28, 2007) —
Elluminate, Inc., a leading provider of live eLearning and web collaboration solutions for the real-time organization, announced today that the Hurricane Education Leadership Program (HELP Team) has been accepted into the company's Community Partner Program. As a Community Partner, the HELP Team has implemented Elluminate Live!® Academic Edition™ as a resource for its consortia members, helping to support schools on the Gulf Coast to continue the recovery process and move towards a 21st century learning environment following hurricanes Katrina and Rita.
Organization Uses Real-time, Online Solution to Help Gulf Coast Schools Move Toward 21st Century Learning Environment
The goal of the HELP Team is to create a learning model that can be replicated by other schools in the affected area and across the country. Using Elluminate Live! eliminates the need for team members to travel, while allowing the participating HELP Team partners to continue to provide consulting, relationship building and expertise at little or no cost to the affected schools. In addition, the team is employing Elluminate Live! to facilitate an after-school forensics program with six Gulf Coast high schools, the University of New Haven's School of Forensic Science and the Tiger Woods Learning Center in Anaheim, California. According to award-winning science teacher Don Comeaux from Belle Chase High School in Plaquemines Parrish, Louisiana, Elluminate Live! will afford him the opportunity to bring a wide variety of guest speakers and subject matter experts into his classroom from across the country, as travel will no longer be an issue. "With Elluminate Live!, students and teachers are able to connect online to review evidence and share theories while enhancing project-based learning, facilitating teamwork and building teleconferencing and technology skills," said HELP Team member Melinda Dinin of Intel Corporation. "The online interaction provided by Elluminate Live! eliminates the time zone barrier and extends the walls of the FEMA Trailer classrooms, from which many of these students will be forced to graduate, as districts continue to struggle with rebuilding without a local tax-basis to support them." "Elluminate is proud to work with a select group of Community Partners, like the HELP Team, to help them make a difference," said Maurice Heiblum, president of Elluminate USA, Inc. "That's what our Community Partner Program is all about — making a positive impact on a national and global level." About the Community Partner Program Elluminate's Community Partner Program provides valuable products and services to a wide variety of organizations, including nonprofits, education consortia, academic institutions and others, for research, special projects, one-time events, long-term initiatives and more. The program works with selected organizations of all sizes, for-profit and nonprofit, to help them support their missions and realize their goals by providing a live eLearning and web collaboration solution for free or at a substantially reduced cost. In return the Community Partners participate with Elluminate in press releases, case studies, white papers, speaking engagements and other activities. For more information, visit here.
