University of Alberta Deploys Elluminate Live!® on Sun Platform Campus-wide

Live eLearning and Collaboration Environment Supports Teaching, Learning, and Research for Multiple Schools and Departments

Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, (June 20, 2006) — Elluminate, Inc., a leading provider of live eLearning and web collaboration solutions for the real-time organization, announced today that the University of Alberta selected Elluminate Live!® Academic Edition™ for campus-wide implementation on the Sun Microsystems platform. One of the largest users of WebCT and the first-ever Sun Center of Excellence, the University will use Elluminate Live! to add synchronous content to its distance learning programs in a variety of disciplines, including education, nursing, community health, and business. Key decision-making factors included the product's ease of use, reliability on all types of Internet connections, and comprehensive instructor toolset, as well as the affordable joint Elluminate/Sun solution.

"I was quite confident in making the investment in this type of technology for a number of reasons," said Paul Sorenson, Vice Provost and Associate Vice President of Information Technology at the University of Alberta. "The area of online synchronous communication is rapidly evolving, and there is overwhelming interest and support for using Elluminate Live! on a broader campus-wide level. In addition, as a Sun Center of Excellence, we are recognized for our leadership and innovation in the area of eLearning."

"One of my main concerns is to meet the needs of our faculty and provide service and support for teaching and learning," said Marika Bourque, Associate Chief Information Technology Officer and Executive Director of Academic Information and Communication Technologies at the University of Alberta. "Elluminate Live! enables us to take another significant step forward in enhancing the learning experience, which is very important to the University. It's also one of the tools that can be used in a number of areas other than teaching, such as research collaboration and campus-wide help desk support."

"We are extremely pleased to enable the University of Alberta continue its commitment to innovation in live eLearning with a campus-wide Elluminate Live! deployment," said Shakeel Hirji, Vice President of Canadian Operations for Elluminate Inc. "The combined value of Sun hardware and Elluminate software is significant. At Elluminate, we are committed to promoting live eLearning and web collaboration on multiple platforms, including Sun, for academic institutions worldwide."
