Configure your Personal Firewall

When using Elluminate Live!™ for the first time, you may need to configure or confirm settings in your Personal Firewall. We have included the following firewall applications that you may be running. If the personal firewall application you are using is not in the list, please contact Elluminate support. General Tips

If your Personal Firewall is not listed in the above, here are a few general steps that you can use to configure your firewall.
  1. You will need to allow Java Web Start (javaws.exe) access to the internet — this may require both inbound and outbound connections.
  2. Elluminate Live! may require access sepreately — you will need to allow this on both inbound and outbound connections as well.
  3. You may be prompted to allow IeEmbed access to the internet. Elluminate Live! will use this for web site access in the session so you will need to allow this also.

If you are running a firewall that is not listed above and are successful in accessing a session, let us know what firewall you have and what steps you took and we will add it to our list.

You may also be running a router for your home or home office. These devices may sometimes also include a firewall. For information on how to configure your router to access an Elluminate Live! session, please see our Personal Routers FAQ.
