Many users with USB microphones find may find that they
do not always work in an Elluminate Live! The solution to this is
to plug in your USB microphone in before joining an Elluminate
Live! session.
When Elluminate Live! starts, it checks the
computer's current audio sources to find out which device
audio should be sent to and received from. The current
audio sources are loaded into Elluminate Live!
for use during the current session. Once Elluminate
Live! is running, it does not again check the
audio sources.
This means that if you plug a USB microphone or headset
in while an Elluminate Live! session is in progress,
Elluminate Live! will not recognize it. Elluminate
Live! continues to run with the settings the computer
had when the session started.
To switch to a USB device during a live session, shut down
Elluminate Live!, plug in the device, and restart
Elluminate Live!. Audio difficulties with USB devices
can usually be solved by opening the relevant control panel
(depending on operating system) and ensuring that the USB device
is set as the default audio device (input and/or output,
depending upon device type).
