My sessions seem slower than Internet traffic. Why?

You are a network administrator using Elluminate Live! Server and your sessions seem slower than other network traffic. What could cause this, and what can you do about it?

One cause is when the LAN (Local Area Network) is not configured to reference the FQDN (Fully Qualified Domain Name) of the Elluminate Live! Server in the local DNS (Domain Name System) tree. When this happens, instead of inherently knowing the server is on the LAN, Elluminate Live! will search the Internet before returning to the LAN to find the correct system. This could cause network delays and exhaust bandwidth, which can be expensive. To resolve this:
  1. Configure all network resources with FQDN references.
  2. Configure internal DNS Servers to reference these resources.
For additional information about LAN, FQDN, or Domain Name Systems, visit: If you have any questions or require assistance with configuring your Elluminate Live! Server, please feel free to contact the Elluminate Help Desk at (866) 388-8674, option #2, or visit our Support Portal.
